Career Fair Assignment

• I visited the Career Fair on Wednesday, September 16. Two of the companies I talked to were Charles Schwab and Ameristar Casino.
• At Charles Schwab I asked if they did internships and the representative said yes, you can start a paid internship at the age of 18. I also told him I was thinking about graduating with a finance concentration, and if I were to have a double concentration, what goes well with a finance degree and he said CIS and Economics. For Ameristar Hotels and Casinos I asked if they had any internship opportunities and the lady told me they didn't but that s something they are looking into the with construction of a new building. I also asked her where finance or marketing could fit into a career with Ameristar, and she told me with the high rollers program.
• It was a little overwhelming with the seniors there, it felt very competitive.
• Next time I would bring more resumes than I did, and also I would look at the list of companies that were coming in the newspaper and do some research on my favorite ones, because then I could ask more questions specific to them.
• I learned from a few recruiters that I could build of my resume with leadership skills during college, and they also told me it was really good how long I have stayed at my current job, because it tells companies you have a sense of loyalty to the company, and shows that you area reliable employee.
